Ashley Wagner was conceived on the 16th of May, 1992 in Heidelberg, Germany. During her early teen years, Ashley found herself hanging around with other girls of a different age, which impacted her self-esteem when she found them to look more mature and in her mind, prettier than she was. Ashley says she was "hot messy", as she was a teenager. Ashley was forced to take modeling lessons by her mother in order to build her confidence. Ashley then began to think about getting a job as a professional model. Ashley was told she was not tall enough to become a model.
